Isn't it too cloudy in Oregon? No, despite being very cloudy in the PNW, Oregon is one of the few states that still has 1 to 1 net metering which means the power company will credit your overproduction in the summer to use in the winter. Think of it like a piggy bank for power.
Is there a tax credit? Yes, currently in 2025 there is a 30% tax credit on the entire system cost. To receive the tax credit you need to be the homeowner and have taxable income. This is the biggest it has ever been and is ending in 2026. Take action now to get grandfathered in. Talk to your tax advisor about the solar tax credit.
